You are what keeps us growing.
Rebuilding Bluebird Farm from Hurricane Helene September 2024.
We appreciate your support. It means so much to us. Here's to 2025 and a good year of growing food!
We are thankful for your emotional and financial support so that the business and the farm can continue. The ability to keep working on the never ending storm clean up AND have the opportunity to physically and mentally recover over the holidays AND seed and grow fresh for 2025 has been made each step lighter and easier.
We make our living one sandy bunch of carrots at a time, but in the devastating floodwaters of Hurricane Helene, we lost 95% of our vegetables that are most of our income, our farm’s income, and our employees’ income from October-March.
Being able to have the support of so many people from all areas of our lives has meant so much to William and I. It has also meant that we’ve been able to clean up, repair, and rebuild around the farm.
We’ve got some big projects that aren’t finished as we turn our efforts to situating vegetable greenhouses on higher ground and building up healthy soil in marginal, sloped areas that aren’t at risk of flooding. In the foothills of the mountains, most of the good, level ground for growing crops is in creek or river bottomlands.
Saturday, Charlotte Regional Farmers’ Market, 8-noon.

Flavorful Pork for Home Meals
Enjoy our bratwurst, sweet Italian links, or thick bone in pork chops on the grill. Our sage country sausage is excellent with zucchini or greens. Kick up the flavors of your tacos with our chorizo sausage. Our cured and shelf stable sweet sopressata, Milano, or pepperoni salamis are a great centerpiece on a meat and cheese board, on the road at your favorite winery or hike, or as a welcome gift.
Our meat pigs are fed certified organic grains. Our cows graze and rotate through grass year round and eat supplements of non-GMO brewer's barley.
